First Time Manager Accelerator Program

Our six-month program teaches essential management skills through interactive workshops and group coaching. Here is a sample curriculum that can be covered over the course of the program:

Month 1: Building Trust With Your Team

Learn management techniques to help you feel prepared, confident and connected to your team.

Month 2: Managing Performance

Feedback is the bedrock of building high performing teams. You will learn how to give quality, consistent, actionable feedback to team members and make that part of your normal interactions.

Month 3: Prioritizing as a Manager

We cover how to manage your energy and identify when you work best. We also look at how you are allocating time and what needs to be done to make it more efficient.

Month 4: Managing Inclusively

Creating an inclusive environment for all employees in a core skill for every manager. Learn skills to create an inclusive team that everyone loves being a part of.

Month 5: Developing Others

Using coaching as a leadership technique can dramatically increase the quality of your relationships with your direct reports. We will cover coaching fundamentals using an easy-to-learn model, including when and how to use it.

Month 6: Retaining Your Talent

One of the main reasons people are loyal to companies is because they feel their manager is invested in their career. Our workshop teaches how to structure a career conversation, what questions to ask, how to set goals, and tips on how to follow up.

1-on-1 Leadership Coaching

With Elevate’s coaching program, each manager is paired with a dedicated coach who will work closely with them to identify challenges, opportunities, and goals. The process starts with an in-depth assessment, including gathering feedback from members of the manager’s team. Our coach then helps craft a personalized action plan and tracks progress through 1-on-1 coaching sessions, arranged to fit with busy schedules.

Coaching Office Hours

Looking for a more scalable solution for a group of newly promoted managers? Office hours are a cost-effective option to provide 1-on-1 coaching to a large group of managers. A coach is available for a set time each week or month for coaching sessions. Managers in your group can then sign up for a session whenever they need one.

On-Demand Learning

We created Elevate Academy to enable ongoing digital learning for new and seasoned managers alike. Elevate Academy is a way to provide on-demand access to leadership development courses via beautifully produced short-form videos. Examples of first time manager training courses include “How to Give Feedback”, “How to Coach as a Manager”, “Building Trust as a Team”, and more.
