CASE STUDY
Nirvana Insurance experienced rapid growth, scaling from 70 to 150 employees in a short period, and is on track to reach 250 employees by year end. This expansion meant a tripling of managers, going from 10 to 33, which created a pressing need for leadership training.
Sarah Royer, People Operations Lead, saw an opportunity to create a common management language to set Nirvana up to scale. She knew managers at every level needed operational and people management skills to lead effectively and with confidence, both of which were evidenced by the manager effectiveness and eNPS scores.
Sarah and the Nirvana leadership team partnered with Elevate Leadership to implement a customizable, scalable manager training program. This program was designed to teach essential skills, foster a social learning environment and seamlessly integrate content into their internal systems. The best part? It’s designed to empower them to eventually manage and sustain the program internally making it far more scaleable.
Elevate Leadership helped us create a safe space for managers to learn, collaborate, and share experiences globally. It’s been critical in standardizing our management practices.
In addition to boosting our eNPS by 90% in just nine months, one of the standout benefits of our manager development program with Elevate Leadership has been the sense of community it fostered among our managers. Operating remotely, it's important that our managers don't feel isolated. This program has empowered them to connect, support one another, and share advice, which is invaluable as we continue to scale.
To assess the impact of their manager training, Sarah Royer leveraged surveys and used the Employer Net Promoter Score (eNPS) to track feedback, knowledge retention, and behavior changes.
The results were clear: eNPS increased by 90%, reflecting a strong boost in employee engagement and management capabilities. This outcome underscores the success of their approach, which combined skill-building for managers with a collaborative, peer-based learning environment.
Survey responses revealed significant improvements in key areas following sessions spanning nine months, from May 2024 to January 2025:
By investing in a program that emphasized practical, peer-driven learning, Nirvana successfully cultivated a stronger, more engaged management team—one equipped to lead the company’s growth with purpose and consistency.
Nirvana will now take the program and run it on their own - making it far more scalable and cost effective.
Elevate's 'How to Give Feedback' session was incredibly valuable! As a new manager, giving feedback can be intimidating, but this workshop provided clear, practical tools that I can apply moving forward. I appreciated the interactive format and the time we had to practice what we learned. It's helped me feel more confident in maintaining trust with my team while delivering feedback.
We are on a mission to help leaders be the kind of manager they would want to work for. Speak with a leadership development expert to learn how Elevate can level up your team’s leadership skills:
